Servus liabe leid!
Welcome one and all

Welcome to Weihenstephaner Berlin, or as we say:
“Servus, Grias Ench”
We are at your service!
WILLKOMMEN – We are honored to have you as our guests.

Historical Cellar

Weihenstephaner is situated in the oldest building in Berlin’s central “Mitte” district. Dating back to 1749, it was a gift from King Frederick William II of Prussia to writer Anna Louisa Karsch.
Our “Gewölbekeller” – the building’s historic Vaulted Cellar – also dates back to that year. After extensive renovations in 2002/2003, these rustic vaulted halls now serve as the venue where we entertain our esteemed Weihenstephaner guests.
Here in this richly historic environment, our traditional tavern tables provide seating for up to 180 people.

Brewer's

Our “Braustüberl”, The Brewer’s Hall, is the perfect function room for large events – for example your Christmas celebrations – accommodating up to 100 guests along the left and right sides of this one room.
The marvelous acoustics of this vaulted hall also provide that something special for any musical touches you may wish to add to your evening.

Schliersee‘

Our “Schliersee Stüberl” – The Schliersee Tavern – provides old-fashioned tavern charm and comfort for up to 25 people.

Well Room

Our “Brunnenzimmer” – The Well Room – featuring the historically preserved and illuminated well provides you with your own intimate little retreat where up to 25 guests can sit back and savor both the company and the food. You will find this room in a corner of the Vaulted Cellar – makes this room the perfect space for internal meetings when you and your guests would like to keep the conversation private and confidential.

Regulars' Table

Where you go to meet afterwards…
The place where the regulars meet…
A friendly round of cards…
The “Stammtisch”, or Regulars’ Table, in our historic Vaulted Cellar provides seating for up to 8 guests to enjoy the traditional atmosphere and ambiance.

Little Alcove

Our “Nischer´l” – The Little Alcove – is the perfect spot for those accompanying larger groups, or any other small group of up to 7 people.

Josef

Another tradition among southern inns and taverns is the room named after the son of the innkeeper, in our case this is our “Josef´ Stüberl” – Josef’s Tavern Room – which can accommodate up to 20 people in a suitably cheerful atmosphere. The prompt service from the Vaulted Cellar’s taproom right around the corner will also give your merrymakers more than enough reason to be merry!

Restaurant

The ground floor of the Weihenstephaner provides cozy seating for 100 at traditional Bavarian-style tables.
This typical tavern atmosphere is the perfect accompaniment not only for classic Alpine region tidbits and beer specialties from the Bavarian State Brewery Weihenstephan, but also for the dishes specially selected for you from the regions of Bavaria, Tirol, and South Tirol.

Our Inner Courtyard

As the first rays of sunshine struggle to break through the clouds in the springtime, the Weihenstephaner beer garden becomes the most popular and arguably the most peaceful haven at Hackescher Markt.
From the beginning of spring until late in the fall, up to 250 people can be found happily observing the hustle and bustle of this lively city spot while enjoying the delightful Bavarian food and drink. Our historic “Hofgarten” – The Courtyard – is protected from the wind and somewhat out of the way of the rain, providing a shady little spot in the summer under an umbrella, or holding onto the remnants of the day’s warmth to provide an enjoyable atmosphere until late into the night. The beer garden furnishings with their traditional blue-and-white tablecloths accommodate up to 80 guests.

Menu

Our primary aim is to bring the inn and tavern culture of the Alps to Berlin, creating an intensely rich experience right here at Hackescher Markt. For us, this means bringing you the outstanding beers from the Bavarian State Brewery Weihenstephan – the oldest brewery in the world – and other exceptional products from the foothills of the Alps in Bavaria as well as the regions of Tirol and South Tirol. But most importantly, this means bringing you the unpretentious, heartfelt hospitality of these regions that you know and love from your vacations and other travels to these places.
Our kitchen and cellar stock products exclusively from suppliers and producers that we know personally – we have visited their businesses and sampled their handiwork ourselves. This is the only way to be sure that we can consistently keep our promise of quality, which can then be happily confirmed by our guests.

Our Beers

The Bavarian State Brewery Weihenstephan was founded in the year 1040 and is world’s oldest brewery still in existence. The contemporary enterprise is officially run by the Free State of Bavaria and brews beers of the highest quality.
The unparalleled combination of tradition and state-of-the-art science enables the brewery to live up to its “Premium Bavaricum” quality standard. From the mild and mellow “Weihenstephaner Original” to the strong, malty “Weihenstephaner Korbinian”, to the incomparable wheat beer specialties – beer aficionados will find themselves with some very tough decisions to make. But of course that just makes the selection process all the more gratifying!
